About Chris
My name is Chris Duke, and I am a CFP® and Wealth Advisor based in the San Francisco Bay Area.
I started writing this blog because I felt that I had a voice to share – with clients, not yet clients, and DIY types. The vast majority of the financial planning topics discussed come directly from discussions with clients.
This blog primarily covers financial planning topics, but I also venture into general market commentary, personal technology topics, and basically whatever tickles my fancy. I am highly opinionated, and not afraid to occasionally reach out and touch on some “third rail” topics.
I believe in a few fundamental principles of personal finance and investing, the two most important of which are to live below your means, and to invest wisely with a long term outlook. While those principles make it seem simple, in reality it is rarely easy to implement.
As an advisor, I strongly believe that my number one priority is to give honest and unbiased advice that always serves the best interests of the client. As an advisor, my job is to tell clients what they need to hear, not what they want to hear. I enjoy helping people plan and invest to achieve their financial goals.
If that is the kind of relationship you would like to have with a financial advisor, or if you know someone who needs this kind of relationship, I look forward to talking to you.
I hold the CFP® designation (CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER ™ ), and carry myself as a fiduciary in every client relationship that I have.
